My client is currently looking for a motivated Senior Scientist with a passion for immunotherapy to join our newly establish Protein Biochemistry function. This role requires deep technical expertise in in-vitro display and selection, and recombinant protein expression (bacterial and mammalian). This is an opportunity for an innovative scientist to develop novel technology platforms and discover new therapies for cancers with significant unmet need.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing, conducting, and evaluating experiments to advance our preclinical pipeline of bispecific T cell engagers
- Helping to establish in-vitro display (yeast and mammalian) platforms and protocols required to engineer our TCR-directed, bispecific molecules
- Providing scientific expertise on TCR engineering projects to generate affinity optimised TCRs
- Recombinant protein expression in mammalian and bacterial cells and purification using an AKTA FPLC system
- Ensuring scientific excellence is maintained within the Protein Biochemistry function
- Reporting of experimental data at company meetings
- Actively contributing to a vibrant and innovative working environment where improvements and new ideas are adopted and freely shared among the teams
- Working closely with other functional teams, project & process leaders to advance our platforms and pipeline
EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR (E – Essential P – Preferred)
- A PhD or equivalent scientific experience in a relevant discipline – e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry
- 3+ years’ experience in scientific roles preferably within biotech/pharma industry
- Hands-on experience and deep technical knowledge of in-vitro display and panning platforms (ideally including yeast and mammalian display)
- Hands-on experience of recombinant protein expression in bacterial and mammalian cells and purification using an AKTA system
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology e.g. PCR, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis and sanger sequencing
- Proven success in execution of scientific projects, demonstrating innovate thinking and problem solving
- Excellent communications skills and a strong desire to work in a highly collaborate environment
