Operations Analyst

My client a successful Investment management firm in the heart of Cambridge is currently looking for an Operations Analyst to join their Ops team to help support the day to day information and report generations for their ongoing investments and investors. We are open to candidates with little career experience looking to get into a data focussed role or candidates with experience looking for a tepping stone into venture capital investments.

Operations Analyst

The Operations Analyst role involves creating PowerPoint presentations for investors, segmenting and analysing data using Excel, liaising with Partners, and becoming a super user of systems like HubSpot, iLevel, Beauhurst, and Microsoft Excel.

You role is to also support with fundraising work with the CFO, research companies in the target market of deep tech and biotechnology in the UK and have a strong interest in technology and innovation.

• Creating PowerPoint Presentations: To create and deliver high-quality PowerPoint presentations to showcase the portfolio companies to investors, both existing and potential
• Data Analysis: Segment and analyse data using Excel to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for the portfolio companies. They will also maintain data accuracy and completeness in internal systems, such as HubSpot, iLevel, and Beauhurst.
• Liaising with Partners: Liaise with the Partners to identify their specific requirements for presentations, research, and data analysis. They will provide the necessary slide decks to the Partners to present to internal and external stakeholders.
• Fundraising Support: Assist the CFO with fundraising work by providing necessary materials and data analysis support.
• Research: Research companies in the target market of deep tech and biotechnology in the UK to identify potential investment opportunities.
• System Management: Become a super user of systems like HubSpot, iLevel, Beauhurst, and Microsoft Excel, ensuring that they have an excellent understanding of the data and how it can be used to drive insights.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve processes and workflows, identifying and implementing new solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in operations, data analysis, or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a passion for technology and innovation.
• Knowledge or interest in the deep tech and biotechnology space is preferred.
