This role is centred on employee relations and offers a broad scope. The incumbent will be accountable for overseeing end-to-end HR activities for our client, both the London Branch and UK Limited. They will be the initial point of contact for straightforward employee relations matters, encompassing grievances.

Moreover, they will provide guidance to line managers on less complex people-related issues, such as absence management, performance, succession planning, and training. Additionally, the role includes serving as a backup for payroll and necessitates an understanding of payroll and finacle systems.

The preferred candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of generalist experience within the professional services sector. They should also demonstrate proficiency in recruitment procedures and take on the entire employee recruitment cycle.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee Relations:

  • Offer guidance on HR policies, employment laws, and practices to staff, ensuring understanding across the organization. This covers areas like sickness, absences, maternity and paternity, performance, contracts, and staff well-being.
  • Develop and present proposals for contractual changes, such as working hours, pay increases, promotions, etc.
  • Advise managers and staff on role changes and job descriptions, ensuring fairness and legality.
  • Foster good employee relations by coaching managers and promoting effective relationships across the organization.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews, using feedback to improve relations and engagement.

Recruitment:

  • Manage the entire recruitment process for our client.

Sickness & Absence:

  • Keep records of all absences.
  • Address cases where sickness triggers are met, involving Line Manager and HR Manager.
  • Coordinate sickness meetings and send relevant letters.

Payroll:

  • Gather payroll changes for assigned business clients, ensuring correct filing.
  • Occasionally input new starters and leavers.
  • Check payroll accuracy and prepare MI reports.

Organise HR Events:

  • Plan HR events like Staff Get-togethers, Employee of the Month ceremonies, or Christmas Parties if needed.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Assist in implementing HR strategy into policies and processes.
  • Help implement specific programs and guidelines aligned with organisational goals.
  • Review HR policies and processes, suggesting improvements for quality HR support.

HRIS:

  • Maintain HR information system records, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Keep organizational structures and Human Capital data updated.
  • Prepare reports and maintain timely data.

Backup to Payroll Resource:

  • Understand payroll process, serve as a payroll input checker.
  • Gain basic understanding of ADP and Finacle systems.

Ad hoc Projects & Reporting:

  • Support HR department with delegated tasks from the Head of HR.
  • Assist in various projects like Probation, Visa, Pension, and more.

  • Exceptional Customer Service: Demonstrates outstanding skills in serving customers.
