Northreach are proud to have partnered with a leading international bank who are on the hunt for an experienced banking professional to join as the Deputy Branch Manager.

As Deputy Branch Manager, you will perform general oversight of the operations and functions in the Credit Administration Department and provide general support to all retail branches with their day-to-day queries. You will also provide reconciliation of accounts held with third parties.

This is a full time, permanent position that will require you to be based in the branch 5 days per week.

  • Oversee the functions of the Credit Admin department.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of loan accounts
  • Assessments of loan accounts including compliance of (i) sanction terms at the time of disbursement on an ongoing basis (ii) interest, fees and charges recovery in loan accounts, (iii) security creation and perfection as per the sanction terms, (iv)  review/renewals of the loan accounts, (v) periodic valuations, insurance etc
  • Review the various reporting undertaken by the Credit Admin department on a sample basis
  • Assess the data accuracy for credit data maintained by the Credit Admin Dept.
  • Perform reviews of the Credit Operations to assure compliance against the credit policy
  • Review the branch Sundry and Suspense accounts
  • Perform regular review of the branch complaints processes
  • Review the branch charges returns
  • Support with the regular review of efficiency in the departments and branches
  • Handling requests related to deceased cases
  • Supporting with requests from investigating agencies
  • Handling data requests from the legal authorities
  • Manage the unclaimed accounts
  • Branch oversight both onsite and offsite and submission of reports to HBO/ED/HNS
  • Improvement of process manual/SOP and policies
  • Submit MI to senior management and branches
EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR (E – Essential P – Preferred)
  • Previous experience using Finacle (essential)
  • Previous experience of training, developing and supporting staff members
  • Positive and energetic approach – able to boost staff morale and develop a mutual trust with the team
  • Excellent knowledge of reconciliations
  • Strong knowledge of Branch Operations such as compliance, KYC and account openings
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of credit operations
  • Excellent knowledge of the banking industry
  • Previous experience and understanding of UK regulators and thorough knowledge of risk review mechanisms
  • Able to analyse work processes and suggest improvements in workflow
  • Able to comprehend and handle complex branch situations and facilitate a positive customer experience
  • Work collaboratively with Branch Management to lead the team effectively
  • Experience producing MI and feeding back to senior management
  • Competent computer skills including experience of PPT/Excel and Word
